This was my first time in Bellingham, Washington and my second time at a Single Speed Cyclocross World Championships (SSCXWC). My first SSCXWC was last year in Minneapolis so I made the trip from Germany to see visit some familiar friends, make new ones and regain my hope in humanity.

Bellingham definitely had a Twilight vibe with its lush green scenery, rocky beaches and misty mornings that blanket the mountains on the edge of the town.

As this is a town with elevation, opposed to Hambug where elevation is a non-factor, I brought along a 22t cog just in case the 18t was too heavy for the task at hand. This, combined with my 42t upfront, would be fine for the Friday’s Welcome Ride and Saturday’s Feats of Strength…

But, before I get into my narrative of the weekend, I’ll add the photos I took from Sunday’s race.
