The sublime beauty that is Hamburg in transition from summer to autumn with a community of fellow fans of two wheeled under-biking (aka gravel) could be felt from the breakfast at Café Johanna to living a turtle and the hare ride-out.
In the end, after riding two different routes, cake for some and a little mud for others, we all ended up at our collective end-point; the Kandie Shop.
After everyone ordered their drink of choice (chai latte for me) and a slice of sugary goodness (carrot cake), we sat outside and talked about the highlights of the last 100km we had just collectively experienced.
Kids were waiting at home, including the rest of the weekend, so we parted ways each with our own finisher bag but not before we made plans to ride again.
